Hair Cutting or Shaving Techniques
Cutting hair is an art form and not a right or wrong way to achieve a good haircut. Each approach will vary by stylist. But there are some basic principles that all barbers and stylists can apply to improve speed and quality when cutting men's hair. Good technical skills will also help increase the retention of your male clients.
Shaving Techniques
There are several tools used to shave your hair short. Each tool uses a specific technique and produces a different end result. These methods include:
Anchor-Pivot-Suspend
Clipper-Over-comb
Blending Shears
Razor Haircutting.
Hair Texture
A razor (with safety) or shear point technique can be used to texture the haircut by cutting the ends of the hair in varying lengths. The desired texture in the haircut can be spiked / spikes or it can be messy.
A razor (with safety) is used to peel the ends of the hair between the blade and thumb to create various lengths. When pulling the hair between the razor and thumb, hold the blade at an angle and use a spooning motion.
The shear-point technique is used to cut the ends of the hair at an angle (or even alternating pieces) to add texture. Perform this technique only after hands-on instructions from a qualified instructor.
Wet or dry?
get to know dry or wet hair Cutting using a clipper is almost always done the best in dry hair. When the hair is wet, it will be difficult to see lines and it is difficult to know exactly how the hair will lie down when cut.
Hair must be wet for the "most shear" or razor. Try to get your hair moistened before hair shaving.

Offer consumers about the desired model, some people will sometimes have different tastes. Use the haircut equipment that you have and start cutting that starts from the hairline.
After knowing the desired model and hairline, gradually cut the hair carefully. Try not to cut a lot of hair at once, because the hair that has been cut can not be returned again. Start cutting from the edge of the hair, do not forget to always use a comb for styling and checking when the process of shaving hair.
Always Check Results When Cutting
Check the haircut results
When doing haircuts, a cross check or cross check is important. To some, this may seem like an unnecessary step, but it is important to make sure the cut is even and proportionate.
When doing a short haircut, check the mixing and tapering in the mirror (or backing down a few meters). Often, you can see things from a distance that you will lose up close. Also make sure to have the right lighting from all angles. Dim light and shadow make it very difficult to check the quality of cutting.
Finishing
finising in shaving hair
Many stylists will spend a lot of time making sure the haircut is flat and perfect. A good haircut can be destroyed by poor finishing. Conversely, bad haircuts can also be made cool with good finishing.
This is important to ensure all lines (curvature around the ears and neck) are clean and neat. Most haircuts will also benefit from a slight tapering or beveling around the bottom edge. Check to make sure bangs are straight too.
Check the Last Cut Result
last check the haircut with a mirror
Before consumers leave your salon, you should do a final check using the front, top and rear mirrors, using 2 mirrors to make it easier. The final decision is on the consumer, if you feel enough and satisfied then the hair cutting process has been completed.
